MACS CPAP Unit
MACS CPAP Unit

MACS critical care CPAP for EMS ground / air transport and Hospital use.

MACS is an easy-to-use, economical mask CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) system. Its demand flow system delivers CPAP without wasting oxygen. A calibrated knob sets the CPAP level and a switch selects 65% or 100% oxygen. Your per run cost is less due to lower oxygen costs and affordable patient circuits.

MACS is designed for patient application by mask or endotracheal tube. Indications include: congestive heart failure (CHF), asthma, acute respiratory failure (ARF), trauma, COPD, near drowning or any patient with severe breathing difficulty. MACS supports patients in respiratory distress who would otherwise require intubation.

EMS agencies with mask CPAP protocols have reported a substantial decrease in patient intubations with increased ER stabilization.

The MACS CPAP System is a critical care device designed for use by healthcare professionals under the direction of a physician.

Benefits for the patient
  • Provides non-invasive or invasive patient support
  • Low patient Work of Breathing (WOB) with peak flow of up to 140 L/min to meet patient needs
  • 100% or 65% to match patient oxygen requirements
  • Low-profile, easy-seal mask reduces facial pressure

Benefits for the healthcare provider

  • Calibrated CPAP and oxygen controls for easy operation
  • Manometer to monitor patient pressure and effort
  • Night visible pressure gauge for patient monitoring
  • Monitor CO2 easily with your existing monitor
  • Use the Safe-T-Vent Medication Nebulizer System and fill the nebulizer without losing CPAP
  • Use the bacteria / viral filter to protect caregivers from patient exhalation
  • Oxygen powered – no batteries
  • Rugged and lightweight (3 lbs / 1.35 kg)

Benefits for your budget

  • Two oxygen levels; conserve oxygen with 65% setting, double the tank time
  • 45-minute CPAP run time on a D cylinder
  • Demand flow CPAP system with minimal wasted oxygen
  • Economical patient circuits with mask and head strap save on operating costs
